There were times that I didnt think I would get this far - nothing like the pressure of a deadline to get you moving!!

I have to say that I have enjoyed the going through the 23 Things - not sure that I can see a use for all of them as far as work is concerned - but I'm sure that there are good uses for some of them - will look forward to seeing what comes out of our discussion about this!! I will definitely continue to use some of them myself - both for work and personally

Read about Library 2.0 - one could go on forever - obviously there are many and varied views on the subject

I am looking forward to planning day and where the discussion on Web 2.0 leads us - from reading our blogs we have a variety of opinions floating around

Have been having fun with this - have managed to set up iGoogle with gadget links to the many and varied things that I have joined - so now access is all on one page which is good

Think I will make time to get it organised properly so that it is useful and therefore will use it

Have only had a fairly brief look at this - not sure that it is something I would use although I can see why it could be useful - would have thought we would have better ways of sharing documents in the library

When I have time might get back to it to check it out further - hard to see it taking over from Word or the like but who knows!!! Although now I think about it I think that I read somewhere that web based applications will be the way of the future

I havent been able to spend a lot of time on this but think it is good fun - interesting to see your house etc on it - found my family home where I grew up in the country

Liked My Maps - could spend time fooling around with it

Cant say that I can see any use for this in the library...........

Thing 17 Exploring Social Networking

Have had a look at MySpace and some of the sites put up by libraries - most seem to be for the younger viewers and I can see that they would be attractive to them

Have spent a bit of time exploring MySpace itself and it seems to have a number of tools in it that would be useful to have in one place - couldnt find anyone I know who was on it

Joined Facebook which I find easy to use and have to say couldnt believe the number of people that I know that I found on it - mostly my kids generation but to my surprise found a number of my vintage - think it would/will be very useful to keep up with what is going on in the lives of friends family etc - can see myself wasting sometime on this!!!!!!!!!!

It seems that there is a video for just about anything you can think of - I can see why people are into this. Site was very easy to get around and simple to upload.

Not sure about library use tho....

Just started looking at this and found this photo which I had to upload - go the Hockeyroos!!

Sadly not to be - signs of better to come.

Having created a Flickr account and uploaded photos etc I have now forgotten my login which is really useful - so havent done the tag thing as of yet

I can see that this would be a very good way to share photos - specially for those of us who have family in the country and overseas - much easier that trying to remember to get copies to them in other ways

As an avid reader I was interested in this and can see some uses for me in keeping track of what I have read and what I would like to read - not sure about library use though.

Being able to see other readers with similar reading tastes and see what they are reading was of interest to me - overall liked this thing

I can see that this is a tool that one could have lots of fun with and no doubt waste lots of time - so much stuff available to use - despite filters - I found Smilebox and decided to use a whole lot of photos I had on a USB to see what it looked like - very easy to use. Could be useful for various presentations etc - http://www.smilebox.com/

Thing 10 - Editing a Wiki

Have had a quick tour of the Chisholm Wiki and made a few additions - really easy to do so makes you aware of how user friendly it appears to be - not sure about creating one tho - havent really had time to look and see what is involved in that. I can see that wikis could be a really productive tool for us to use

So long since I have had time to do anything that I have forgotten bits and pieces. I certainly can see uses for Wikis in our library setting and hopefully as a result of this we may get a wiki or two going!! A good idea for the the weekly diary I would have thought as a start.

So far behind with all this - cant believe where the last few weeks have gone.

Must say that I quite like the podcasts thing - as an ABC fan I enjoyed being able to listen to some programs that I wouldnt otherwise hear so think that this is something that I might explore further, as I am sure there are lots of things out there that I would listen to given the time. I shall be looking out for them.

So far have managed to complete the above having registered my blog, created a RSS Reader account and subscribed to some blogs - still have not worked out how to subscribe to the library blogs ie opml file that Jason has set up but will perservere on that - have yet to post some comments to other blogs but plan to do that when I have finished this post.

I am enjoying fiddling around with all this technology that I was aware of, but had no reason to try and use, and am sure that I will put to use sometime. Apart from the opml file mentioned above have found all the instruction relatively easy to follow.

Now on to Podcasts!!

So far have completed the above and am finding my way through - am enjoying the process and hopefully will learn some new skills along the way - very much trial and error but the best way to learn I think - looking forward to the rest of it. It would be good to have the time to explore these things more thoroughly though.

We finally have the builders in our work room and I must say we are looking forward to the finished outcome - working out of our AV store room is interesting to say the least.
