Thing 17 Exploring Social Networking

Have had a look at MySpace and some of the sites put up by libraries - most seem to be for the younger viewers and I can see that they would be attractive to them

Have spent a bit of time exploring MySpace itself and it seems to have a number of tools in it that would be useful to have in one place - couldnt find anyone I know who was on it

Joined Facebook which I find easy to use and have to say couldnt believe the number of people that I know that I found on it - mostly my kids generation but to my surprise found a number of my vintage - think it would/will be very useful to keep up with what is going on in the lives of friends family etc - can see myself wasting sometime on this!!!!!!!!!!

Couldnt resist putting this up - think it is amazing footage

It seems that there is a video for just about anything you can think of - I can see why people are into this. Site was very easy to get around and simple to upload.

Not sure about library use tho....

Thing 15 Flickr

Just started looking at this and found this photo which I had to upload - go the Hockeyroos!!

Sadly not to be - signs of better to come.

Having created a Flickr account and uploaded photos etc I have now forgotten my login which is really useful - so havent done the tag thing as of yet

I can see that this would be a very good way to share photos - specially for those of us who have family in the country and overseas - much easier that trying to remember to get copies to them in other ways
